Polio is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease that is completely preventable. Army seeking troops bitten by stray animals following rabies death – Army – Stripes.

We must not turn a blind eye to the shocking facts about land mines and the damage they cause to civilians and our own troops. The fact that modern warfare involves buried explosives that are completely untargeted should shock the conscience of the world. The number of severe wounds that affect our servicemen is on the rise and the Army’s Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany is filled with casualties from Iraq and Afghanistan.
There have been 79 cases of multiple amputations this year for our U.S. soldiers…more than any previous year and through July, 134 servicemen and women lost limbs. The year is only 1/2 over!

Recently SSG Matthew Kinney was named Flight Medic of the Year at the DUSTOFF Association and AMEC Conference for his actions on Oct. 16, 2008, for which he was also awarded the Silver Star.
Wow. Just reading the citation impressed me. There are heroes in this world.

Fort Worth soldier’s, um, boxers make him famous | Fort Worth | Star-Telegram.com
Army Spec. Zachary Boyd, a 2007 graduate of Keller Central High School, was in his sleeping quarters this week when the Taliban attacked in the rugged mountains of eastern Afghanistan. Boyd rushed to a defensive position clad in his helmet, vest and boxers — the pink ones decorated with the “I Love NY” slogan.
Dude’s from Fort Wort. “I Love NY” Boxers. Geez.
